I am an Associate at Pictons and a Fellow Chartered Legal Executive (FCILEX). I began my journey in 2012 and successfully qualified as a Fellow in 2018, moving on to become an Associate.

Having trained in a small, niche boutique firm, I moved to join Pictons in 2024. I have experience in all areas of family law including divorce, cohabitation, pre-nups, TLATA, and children act proceedings.  I am an Accredited Resolution member and so adhere to the Code of Conduct, recognising that, where possible, using a non-confrontational approach to family proceedings can assist in keeping costs and acrimony down.  I was previously the Chair of the Local Yres Group, guiding and assisting other young lawyers and sharing knowledge.

Assisting people is my passion and so my volunteering at my local CAB has been very rewarding for me.

Although I take a non-confrontational approach to matters where possible, I also recognise when a court timetable is needed and am confident in representing clients in court and taking a robust stance.  I have a passion for helping clients reach their goal in the most cost effective and swift way, as often they come to us in a vulnerable time of their lives.  When quick action and urgent response is required, I am confident in dealing with clients and putting their best interests first.

During my career I have been involved in a large variety of cases.  In respect of financial matters, I have dealt with high-net-worth cases with complexities such as trusts, limited companies and overseas assets.  I have a good connection with other organisations when referrals are needed, for example barristers, accountants and pensions advisors.

I have been identified as a key lawyer on Legal 500.

    Legal 500 Testimonial:-

Rebecca Stewart is fantastic from start to finish, including after care between cases, and ensures house sales and split of funds are dealt with properly
