Pictons Sponsor Top Triathlete Katy Armitage
Pictons are proud to announce that we will be sponsoring GB triathlete, Katy Armitage, for the upcoming European Sprint Triathlon Championships.
Katy grew up in Luton and has had a meteoric rise to the top of her sport, having only taken up Triathlon just three years ago.
In 2022, Katy finished in second place in her age group at the UK Ironman, and narrowly missed out on a place in the World Championship. However, in 2023, Katy went one better and won her age group at the UK Ironman and came 6th place overall qualifying for the World Championships in Hawaii.
A successful year was capped off when Katy was selected to represent Great Britain in the European Sprint Championships, held in Vichy, France in September 2024.
The European Sprint Triathlon Championships brings together the best age group Triathletes from across Europe to race for the European Age Group Title. All athletes involved have qualified at various events in their own countries before being selected to race.
For Katy, this will be a totally different type of racing compared to the Ironman distance, where she would usually race for around 11 hours, so she is excited to face this new, and much faster challenge!
