Pictons Supports Mary Seacole Housing Association Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility

Pictons is supporting the charity Mary Seacole Housing Association at its Corporate Social Responsibility Conference on Thursday March 13th 2014 at Barnfield College in New Bedford Road, Luton from 9.00am-12.30pm.

The conference will cover the subject of Corporate Social Responsibility, what it means, what the responsibilities are and how it can benefit companies to get involved. The conference is aimed at business managers, charities and voluntary and community service providers.

Sukh Saini, Managing Partner of Pictons, is one of the keynote speakers. He says “I will be talking about how Pictons supports the communities in Luton through a variety of charity and support initiatives. This has proved vitally important to us as a company. It has also created a strong supportive culture within Pictons where our staff actively raise money for many charities, whether that’s baking cakes, sky diving, night walking for breast cancer or abseiling down a high building.

“By getting involved and showing our commitment to community projects we have become known and trusted as a business, so it’s been beneficial for all sides. We believe it is very important for businesses to work in partnership with the third and voluntary sectors.”

The other speakers will include Audrey Lewis, Chief Executive of the Mary Seacole Housing Association, Tom Shaw, Chairman of the Mary Seacole Housing Association, Claire Gillies Barclays Bank Branch Manager and Area Citizenship Co-ordinator, Rosie Garwood, Lloyds Bank East of England Business Connector Co-ordinator and Michael Patterson, Commercial Entrepreneur and Director of Support Solutions Ltd.

Entrance is complimentary, with a free buffet lunch at Barnfield College and opportunities to network at the end of conference. Parking at the College is free.

Audrey Lewis, Chief Executive of the Mary Seacole Housing Association says “This is a very important conference for the Mary Seacole Housing Association. It not only gives us the opportunity to raise our profile within the business community, it is also aimed at encouraging businesses within Luton to get actively involved in CSR which reaps huge rewards for businesses and the community alike. We fully appreciate the support of companies like Pictons, Support Solutions Ltd, Barclays Bank and Lloyds Bank without whom we would not be able to host this conference.

“The invitation is open to all Luton businesses and we look forward to welcoming as many people as possible. “
