Pictons Takes Part in the Disability Resource Centre’s Event Line Up for Carers Week 2018
Leading regional law firm Pictons Solicitors supported The Disability Resource Centre for Carers Week on Friday 15th June from 2pm-6pm at Poynters House in Dunstable.
Pictons, which has offices in Luton, Milton Keynes and Tring, was represented at the event by Siobhan Rooney, one of the firm’s Partners who heads the Private Client department and is based in Luton and presented information to attendees on Wills, Trusts and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
Siobhan said “We’re really glad that the Disability Resource Centre in partnership with CHUMS gave us the opportunity to get involved in this brilliant initiative celebrating Carers Week. They offered various activities, crafts and beauty treatments for the carers as well as information stands enabling the attendees to gain access to advice and guidance that perhaps they may not have had access to otherwise as for most caring can be a full time job”.
Siobhan continued “The event “Caring for Carers” was geared towards all carers especially the many unpaid carers that are usually found in family and friends and give them a little something back while providing a safe and supportive environment. We had lots of interest from Carers on our information stall”.
Other speakers included;
Active Luton, Benefits advice with Daniel Churchman, Dogs for the hearing with Patrick Boys, Healthy Eating with Janet Theodore, CHUMS open forum and confident carers with the DRC. The event was attended by over 70 Carers.
