Pictons Sponsored Footgolf Tournament for Active Luton’s Access2Sport Family Activity Day

Pictons sponsored the Footgolf Tournament for Active Luton Access 2 Sport Family Activity Day on Saturday May 31st to support Active Luton in its fundraising activities to help disabled young people in the Borough.

Access2Sport is a programme for 5-18 year olds, providing valuable sports and physical activity for over 50 disabled young people a week. The aim was to raise £5000 to purchase specialist gym and sports equipment to further increase the physical activity and sports provision available to the disabled young people and adults in Luton, and to help them improve their skills and life opportunities.

Sukh Saini, Managing Partner of Pictons says “The Access2Sport Family Activity Day was an ideal opportunity for families and businesses to come together and help to raise funds for such a great cause. We were delighted to be sponsoring the first Footgolf Tournament. Footgolf is a fantastic new sport ideal for all ages and abilities and is totally inclusive of those with a disability. Pictons entered its own team in the Tournament just for fun.”

Colby Nicholls-Brown, the event organiser says “Having companies like Pictons involved in this event made it an extra special celebration, highlighting the achievements of some truly talented individuals. Helping to secure future development and sustainability of the Access2Sport project gives Luton’s disabled young people more opportunity to stay physically active and develop socially.

“We encouraged families, businesses or work colleagues to join in. There was also a barbecue, music, fun events, a silent auction and competitions – we had an excellent turnout raising over £1,500 and everyone had a great time.”
